How Does a Bag Filter Work

Filtration Process:
The bag filter features a simple and easy-to-install structure, consisting of a housing, filter bag, and support basket. Liquid flows in from the top inlet flange and enters the interior of the filter bag. Solid impurity particles are intercepted by the filter media as the liquid passes through the bag.

The support basket is designed to hold the filter bag in place, preventing water pressure from pressing the bag against the housing wall, which could affect filtration efficiency. The clean liquid flows out through the bottom outlet flange.

A pressure gauge is mounted on top of the equipment. When solid impurities accumulate to a certain level, they obstruct liquid flow and increase the pressure inside the filter bag. When the pressure gauge shows a preset value, it signals the operator to replace the filter bag. To replace the bag, first open the pressure relief port, then open the quick-release flange at the top, and install a new bag. After replacement, the pressure gauge reading will return to normal, and the equipment can resume operation.
