How to Install a Bag Filter
I. Principle of the Bag Filtration System
A bag filter is a new type of filtration system in which the filter bag is supported by a metal inner mesh. Liquid flows in through the inlet, passes through the filter bag, and flows out, with impurities trapped inside the filter bag. The filter bag can be replaced or cleaned for reuse.
II. Installation Preparation
Warning: The lid may fall and cause hand injuries when opened.
-
First, please ensure that all parts required for installing the bag filtration system are ready:
- (1) Bag filter body
- (2) O-ring seal
- (3) Support mesh
- (4) Filter bag
- (5) Pressure gauge (optional)
-
Inspect the O-ring and the O-ring groove on the filter. If the O-ring is deformed, scratched, cracked, or has any issues at the joint, replace it with a new part.
Installation Steps
During installation, please follow these steps:
- Position the bag filter at the desired filtration site, connect the inlet and outlet flanges or pipe threads, and secure it in place; seal the vent port or equip it with a vent valve. Connect the heat source for insulated models.
- Gently place the metal support mesh inside the bag filter, aligning the collar of the inner mesh with the opening of the bag filter.
- Place the filter bag inside, aligning the ring of the filter bag with the collar of the metal support mesh. Then, insert the pressure plate with a magnetic bar to secure the filter bag.
- Place the O-ring in the O-ring groove, ensuring that the O-ring is neither twisted nor deformed. For multi-bag filters, secure the filter bag with the bag compression ring.
- Hold the handle on the lid with one hand and the other end of the lid with the other hand (for multi-bag filters, turn the handwheel on top), align the lid with the bag filter opening, and gently lower it, pressing it evenly onto the O-ring and filter bag ring.
- Once aligned, tighten two diagonal lifting nuts simultaneously, then tighten all lifting nuts (using a short rod inserted into the lifting ring to tighten).
- Close the vent valve installed at the top of the bag filter.
- Check that all connecting pipes are secure and that the working pressure is within the allowable range.
- Open the outlet valve. Open the inlet valve for the heat source and gradually increase the temperature to bring the filter to the specified temperature.
- Slowly open the input valve, allowing liquid to flow gradually into the filter to prevent sudden impact on the filter bag, which could cause rupture. Observe for any leaks. If no leaks are found, filtration can begin.
