What Is a Swing Arm Type Bag Filter Housing

A swing arm type bag filter housing (side-opening rotary type) features the following structural characteristics:

swing arm type bag filter housing

Structural Features:

  • A rotating arm is mounted on the side or top of the housing, allowing the cover to open and close via a hinge or pivot shaft.

  • Sealing is typically achieved with clamps or a few bolts (4–6 pieces); some models are equipped with hydraulic assist mechanisms for easier operation.

Operating Procedure:

  1. Loosen the clamp or bolts

  2. Swing the arm to open the cover

  3. Replace the filter bag

  4. Close the cover

  5. Tighten and seal

Typical Applications:

  • Medium-capacity filtration systems: Flow rates of 2–10 m³/h, with tank diameters ranging from 400 to 800 mm

  • Frequent maintenance operations: Environments where filter bags must be changed daily, such as in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industries

  • Space-limited scenarios: Ideal where no fixed hoisting equipment is available, but ease of operation is still required

Advantages:

  • Fast cover opening (approximately 10 minutes)

  • Low labor requirement

Limitations:

  • Lower pressure resistance (typically ≤ 0.6 MPa)

  • Hinges may experience wear over long-term use
